If you had read our Zen post, you will know that we are unable to go back to Zen for a few months. So instead we went to Sushi Zanmai instead, a sister branch of Zen. (I like using cool words like 'sister branch', it makes me feel so pro.)
Sushi Zanmai has a conveyor-sushi while Zen doesn't, and it's definitely a Hipper & Cheaper place than Zen. They even have extra hidden places to sit in the back that you don't really notice when you step in. The only one problem I have with Sushi Zanmai is the fact that they don't have Bento sets! MOFO! I like my Bento sets, it has EVERYTHING in it! (MOFO is the word of the day)Darren had:
UnagiDon (Small) Rm15.80Yes, that is all that Darren had because he says this place is expensive. WTF??? Not that expensive lar, plus it's worth it for the taste. I tried his Unagi and normally I DON'T like Unagi at all, but this one didn't have that strong Unagi taste which is good. According to Darren, the Unagi eater he says here has one of the best Unagi's.
Albert Had:
Black Caviar Rm3.80Okay, honestly I've never really had the guts to order all these caviar things because if I ordered and didn't like it how? Then must pay for crap-ness. Beh. No thanks. I wasn't sure what I was expecting when I tasted this, but it just had a nice salty taste. I liked it.
L-R: Soft Shell Crab Temaki, California Temaki (x2) Rm4.80 eachAla, I forgot to taste his Temaki!! But I've had the California one before and it was gooooooooooood. I like the fact that they put Avocado inside.
You know, when you goto some places their seaweed is kinda soft and a little soggy, this seaweed was nice and crunchy! The best way to eat it!
Albert says the Temaki is nice, but the one at Sushi King is better, cos this one like didn't put enough stuff inside.
I Had:
Mini California Maki Rm4.80Mmmm, I loved it! I love sushi! I just which that the Roe and the rice won't keep falling off whenever I dip it into Wasabi, I always feel so sad when I can't finish ALL of it and I will always attempt to eat ALL that has fallen, but it's very hard to pick up Roe!!! MOFO!
Avocado Tempura Roll Rm9.80OH. MY. GAWD! I was totally expecting this to be a cold dish, and when I put it into my mouth and it was warm, WAH!!! DAMN NICE! One of my favourites definitely. Better than the California Temaki. Guess I know which I'm gonna be havin' again next time! The outside was warm and crunchy and the inside soft and tasty. WAH! SO nice!
Checkah please!
Totally worth going back for!Alb's Favourite Ice-Cream
Watermelon Ball Rm5.90Seriously, I don't know what his obsession with balls are. Maybe y'all can ask him. This was bought outside of Sushi Zanmai at Shojikiya (The Japanese Food Specialty Store). It was tasty and refreshing, I liked it too!! The packaging is so cute! XOXO!
Other stuff we had previously but didn't post up before.
Clockwise from Top Left: Chicken Teriyaki with bowl of rice, Macha & Macha Parfait, Vegetable UdonWe had these awhile back and lost the receipt so we don't remember how much it costs. Overall, everything was REALLY tasty. I really liked the Green Tea Parfait except for the fact that it had just a bit too much Cornflakes. Aiyo, I soooo wanna go back there again!
